Letty Brown & Hubbard Semple

These two are my latest and most special pieces…..they were inspired from within my soul. You can view these pieces at Southern Heartland Gallery in Covington, Georgia

Letty Brown –- Letty, with her two young sons, ran from her master’s home. Even though there was a reward for return ($20.00 for her and $10.00 each for both boys) back in the year of 1828, she was never found and sent back to the life she refused to live.

Hubbard Semple –- Hubbard, a man who knew he was born a “free man” and stated so, was jailed in the year 1830, for thinking he had that right to feel and be free. No mater where he was, Hubbard was free in his heart.
My desire is to have these two end up in a very special place and be recognized as the Free Americans they are.
