About O.C.'s
Hello, my name is Terry Clyde King (T.C.) and I was born in Childress, Texas. I spent most of my younger life there. I graduated from Childress High School and briefly attended North Texas State University. After that, I joined the Air Force and had the opportunity to see and experience life and the world beyond the small town I had always known.
Upon leaving the Air Force, I returned to my Texas home and for many years thereafter lived in various parts of the West. My roots are tied to the rural life of wide open spaces, farming, horses and cattle. I was blessed to have the influence of a large family with lots of uncles who taught me with real hands on involvement so many of the things I hold so dear today of that gone-by life style. My dad was a great welder and he taught me, so I feel like I’ve received a gift through a master.
My work as a door contractor took me to Georgia in 1986. I’ve lived in the South since that time. I live in what once was a very rural area, but progress has turned it in to something quite different now. I always loved tractors (I have an old 1948 Ford-8N) and seeing the plowed earth. I guess that’s the link between my art today and the life I knew as a young person.

The discovery of my "talent" came about rather uneventfully. I had a nice little work shop and I wanted to try something I though I could do. I found some old harrow discs and realized that was my ticket. I knew I could turn them into something I would enjoy making and hoped others would like the finished product.

This is my father Orville Clyde King I named my blues shop and all my metal art in the honor of his name. Orville has been in the metal business his entire life and taught me how to weld at the age of 14. Orville was always creative in his welding. I feel that experience with my father gave me the same avenue to let me do as well.
My father died 18 years ago and I am honored in sharing the gift and I want to thank God for the ability and the experience to do the same.
After I had made several pieces, I contacted. I have had my art in several galleries in the state of Georgia. The group encouragement has been my motivation to show my art to others.
